(“SeekMedicare,” “we”, “us” or “our”) is a licensed insurance broker that provides Consumers with information and decision-support material to assist them in making an informed decision regarding their Medicare insurance choices, and allows you, the Consumer, to use our online portal to shop and apply for various health insurance and related products offered by third-party insurance Providers (“Service”).
We understand that when you use our Service or visit websites or webpages we manage, support, or for which we are responsible, you are placing your trust in us to appropriately oversee your personal information. It is this trust that serves as the basis for our commitment to take a straightforward and transparent approach to data protection, and part of this approach is ensuring that you are informed about how we may collect and process your personal information.
We process the personal information of Users and Consumers differently because our relationship with our Consumers may be different from the relationship we have with Users. Regardless of the category, “information” as used in this Policy means any information that identifies or can be used to identify an individual directly or indirectly (e.g., first and last name, date of birth, email address, gender, occupation, or other demographic information) and “you” and “your” means, depending on the context, either a Consumer, a User, or both.
Capitalized terms not otherwise defined herein shall have the meaning as set forth in our Terms of Conditions and Use (“Terms”). We Collect Information From and About You.
We collect contact information. For example, if you are a Consumer or User, we might collect your name, street address, phone number, and email address if you register an Account, purchase an insurance policy using, or otherwise submit your contact information to, the Service.
We collect information you submit or post. We collect the information Users post in a public space on or through our Service. We also collect information when you contact us.
We collect demographic information. We may collect information from a Consumer like your gender, age, and date of birth. We may also collect a User’s zip code. We might collect this when you contact us or purchase an insurance product through the Service.
We collect additional information depending upon which portion of our Service you are interested in. For example, if a Consumer applies for a Medicare Advantage Plan, we will collect additional information to process your application, including your Medicare identity number. Or if a User requests information about how we can help you choose the health insurance policy for you, we will collect additional information including information about your medical history, prescription drug use, and current healthcare providers. We also collect information about your current insurance coverage.
We collect usage and device/location information. When you use or visit our website, we may collect information about the browser you are using or what site you came from before visiting seekmedicare.com, or what sites you visit when you leave us. On our app, we may collect information about your location, including saved locations. This may include your precise location. We may collect this using different technologies, including GPS and Wi-Fi. If you use our mobile app, we may also access your device’s location information in the background. We might also collect device identifiers.
We Collect Information in Different Ways.
We collect information directly from you. For example, we collect information from you if you enter it into our website, request insurance information, register for an Account, or purchase a Medicare insurance plan. We also collect information if you contact us.
We collect information from you passively. We use tracking tools like browser cookies and web beacons. We do this on our websites and in emails that we send to you. We collect information about Users over time when you use our Service or websites. We may have third parties collect personal information this way. We also collect information from our mobile apps. This includes information about your device, including your device and app ID. If you have enabled location services for our app, we collect this information in the background, even when you do not have our app open on your phone.
We get information about you from third parties. For example, our business partners may give us information about you, including contact, demographic and other personal information. These may include Providers, governmental agencies, and other data companies. Social media platforms may also give us information about you.
We combine information. For example, we may combine information we get from a third party with information we already have. We may also combine information collected from you on our various platforms. We may also obtain information about you based on other websites you have visited.

For example, we and our business partners use your information to select and provide you with information about insurance products you may be interested in. We may also use your information to respond to your feedback or requests for information.

We use information for security purposes. We may use your information to protect our company and our Users or Providers, or other third parties. We also use information to protect your Account.

This information may be from or on behalf of Providers or other third parties. We might tell you about new features or updates. By submitting your email address and/or phone number to us, you authorize us to use that email address and phone number to periodically send you Communications, including through email, direct dial telephone call, recurring text messages, prerecorded or artificial voice messages, or the use of an “automated telephone dialing system” or “autodialer,” even if a telephone number you provided is on a federal or state Do Not Call List. We use information as otherwise permitted by law or as we may notify you. We may send you Medicare policy updates and other disclosures required under Medicare. Or we may use your information to meet our legal requirements, including periodic reporting to government agencies, complying with court orders, valid discovery requests, valid subpoenas, and other appropriate legal mechanisms.
We May Share Information with Third Parties.
We will share information with third parties who perform services on our behalf. For example, we share information with vendors who send emails or text messages for us. We may also share information with companies that host our Service or run a promotion.
We will share information with Providers and other third parties. If you use our Service to purchase an insurance policy, we will share your information, including name, address, email, telephone number, and date of birth, which you provided to us or that we obtained from third-party sources, with Providers or other third parties that may provide it to Providers. Providers that receive your information may use it to assist in providing you insurance or they may confirm your information through a government agency to determine eligibility.
We will share information if we think we must to comply with the law or to protect ourselves. For example, we will share information to respond to a court order or subpoena. This may include information that is discoverable in connection with investigations, litigation, or both. We may share it if a government agency or investigatory body requests. We might share information when we are investigating potential fraud.
We may share information with any successor to all or part of our business. For example, if part of our business is sold, we may give our User list as part of that transaction.
Your information may be viewable by other Users. If you use features of the Service that allow you to post publicly, your username and whatever content you post will be publicly viewable by others.
You Have Certain Choices About How We Use Your Information.
You can opt out of receiving our Communications. If you wish to stop receiving marketing Communications from us, you can do so at any time by following the opt-out or unsubscribe methods included in the relevant Communication. For example, to opt out of marketing emails you would press the “UNSUBSCRIBE” link in the email itself. If you wish to opt out of texts, you may reply STOP from the mobile device receiving the messages, and to no longer receive marketing calls, you may make a DO NOT CALL REQUEST either during a call you receive from us or by calling back the phone number provided during the call. Please understand that you may continue to receive communications while SeekMedicare processes your opt-out request, receive a communication confirming the receipt of your opt-out request, and after opting out of receiving marketing messages, continue to receive certain non-marketing communications by email or to a non-wireless number, such as confirmations or updates related to your Account, insurance application or policy, or transactions through the Service.
You can close your Account. To request closure your Account, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You should know that closure of your Account will result in you permanently losing access to such Account and any data in the Account. Certain information associated with your Account may remain on our backup servers that may or may not identify you for a certain period after Account closure in accordance with our customary business practices or data retention policy.

You can control tools on your mobile devices. For example, you can turn off the push notifications on your phone through your phone’s settings.

Information from Children.
Our Service, Content, and website are not designed or intended for use by anyone below the age of 18. We also do not knowingly permit children (under the age of 16) to sign up for an Account or to use the Service. These measures vary based on the sensitivity of the information we collect, process, and store in conjunction with the current state of technology. We also take measures to ensure our vendors or service providers that process your information on our behalf also have appropriate security controls in place.
